Choose a Date - Plan at least two weeks in advance to allow time for the Tea Party Angels kit to arrive in the mail and your guests to respond.
Choose a Location - The tea party can be in your home or at a favorite restaurant or tea shop. If having the tea party outside of your home, you would still order the tea party kit and bring it to your chosen location.
Choose a Nonprofit - Decide which nonprofit you would like your tea party to support from the list of qualified organizations on our site (Click here for list). When you register your tea party you can select a non-profit organization. You may also simply choose the Tea Party Angels Fund which supports all of the organizations equally.
Register Tea Party - It's free to register your party and designate the non-profit to receive the donations.
Guest List and Invitations - Put together your list of guests to invite, and then download and print out the Tea Party Angels invitation. Fill in the information for your party, including a suggested donation of $25 or more. The invitation includes instructions on how your guests submit a donation, either online or via check; the Tea Party Angels kit includes an envelope for you to mail in donations.
Additional Donations - If you would like to request additional donations from family and friends, you can download the donation request letter here to send by hand or via email. To send by e-mail, save the PDF file to your computer and then put in as an attachment to the e-mail.
You now have done everything you need to prepare for your party. The next step is to go to the Tea Party Angels Checklist to make sure you have everything to set up and host the perfect tea party. You can print this document so you have it handy for the day of the event.
Your tea party will have three parts:
You will need to have tea or ice tea to serve in the tea cups. You might also like cookies or other snacks to serve. Tea is not included in the Tea Party Angels Kit.
Set the table with the tea cups. When the girls are having tea, the host mother can have the girls go around the table and tell everyone what chore she did to earn her donation for the tea party.
Make sure your DVD player is working and ready to play on your television after tea and snacks. Keep the Tea Party Angels DVD by the TV so you can find it when you are ready to view it. Also, have the bracelets by the television so that you can give them out to the girls after they watch the DVD.
The host mother can ask the girls questions about the video to earn the bracelet. For example, "Name something your money will buy for girls' education."
Set out all the materials and read the instructions included in the kit.
If there are too many girls to fit around the table, break up the girls in two shifts.
Read the Tea-Shirt making instructions and Helpful Hints included in the kit.
Gift bags are included so each girl can take home her tea cup, tea-shirt and other items.
Make sure to collect the donations from the girls before they leave the party.
Fill out the Donation Submission Form provided and mail all the checks in the addressed envelope enclosed in the kit. Each mother and daughter will receive a thank you letter for their tax deductible donation.
This form should be used to send in your check donations only and is provided in the tea party kit.
